This year we will be holding the first ever GADPA club Championship. We hope this will become an annual event that the whole family can enjoy.
The GADPA club championship is designed to recognize those club members who perform well in their division and class. This match will not be sanctioned by IDPA headquarters. It will consist of seven stages and be held during our regular match weekend in June 2008 (June 22nd). The Safety Officers will shoot the match on Saturday and work individual bays on Sunday. This will allow for a shotgun start and/or open squadding. Scores will be totaled the day of the match and awards will be presented afterward.
Who can participate?
Everyone. You do not have to be a GADPA member in order to shoot the match, however, only GADPA members will be eligible for awards. If you’ve been thinking about joining GADPA, now is the time!
Match Fee
The match fee for this match will be $20.00 for members and $25.00 for non-members. All shooters are invited to the hamburger and hot dog cookout after the match.
Pre-registration
Pre-registration is encouraged, but not required. Pre-registration helps us get the match started on time and means that you don't need to wait in line the day of the match. You can choose to pay your match fee on the day of the match, but PLEASE pre-register so we will know how much food to buy!
To pre-register, go to the Match Registration Page and submit your information and payment.
Awards
Trophies will be presented to the division champions and award certificates will be presented to the top 1/3 of shooters in each class. A plaque will be placed in the South River clubhouse with all the winners’ names on it.
We have a few prizes that will be awarded by random drawing after the match, so stick around!
Cook out
There will be a cookout immediately following the match. Hot dogs and hamburgers will be served. Everyone is invited to the cookout. If you will be bringing any non-shooters to the cookout, please let us know how many in advance.
Setup
Setup will begin Friday afternoon and finish Saturday morning. We’ll do it this way so the folks who setup and SO will not be worn out when they begin to shoot on Saturday. If you would like to help with the setup, please let me know.
Safety Officers
SO’s will shoot on Saturday starting at noon. We’ll need a total of 14 SO’s. On Sunday, the SO’s will work one bay all day. If you are interested in working as an SO, please contact me via email.
Scoring
This match will be scored on the day of the match. Each shooter is responsible for making sure their scores are recorded correctly, so please check your scoresheet after each stage.
This is going to be a fun day at the range and we hope everyone can make it!
