Sandy Spring Gun Club is a state of the art facility with 3 independent firing ranges, a pro shop, members lounge and training room.
The staff is great and they have gone out of the way to support GADPA for the weekly matches. New shooters are always welcome. If you are interested in IDPA we suggest you read our New Shooter Info page, pack your gear and head out to our next match.
Matches are held every Tuesday evening starting at 6:30 PM. If you are a new shooter, please arrive 30 minutes early and request a safety briefing. Please check the GADPA calendar for the most up-to-date schedule. IDPA Parking is located next door to the range on the north side of the building, click here for a map that shows where to park. Please respect the ranges’ request not to park in front of the building durning normal hours. These spaces are reserved for SSGC club members and walk-in clients.
The typical match consists of 4 stages requiring approximately 50 rounds and lasts approximately 2 hours. One of the great things about shooting indoors is that the weather does not impact the match, so come on out!
Match Directors
Rhett Crutchfield is the match director for the Tuesday night match at SSGC. Rhett has been shooting IDPA since 2005. He currently a 3 Gun Master, in CDP, SSP and ESP. He has been the MD for the ACM match for the last 3 years.
Match Director Rhett CrutchfieldKen Murano is the newest Match Director at SSGC. He started shooting IDPA in 2010 at the very same range, originally thinking competitive shooting was for the highly trained and gifted. Inspired by the efforts of the Match Directors and fellow shooters, Ken found himself trying to help out whenever possible. He hopes to continue the quality of matches and camaraderie that have become a staple of the Tuesday matches. Ken is currently classified as an Expert in SSP, Sharpshooter in ESP and ESR, and Marksman in CDP
Rhett – I am an IDPA member and Safety Officer. I currently shoot at Bullseye marksman range on Wednesday nights. However I have a class on Wednesday evenings this semester so I may start shooting there with my daughter. Just wanted to give you a heads up.

Any chance there will be a classifier at Sandy Springs in the near future?
Also, when is the Dave Harrington (sp?) class going to be?
Finally, will there be IDPA this Tuesday at SSGC since the classifier is being held Sunday?

There are no plans to run the classifier at SSGC right now, but we would like to start running them once/month at some time in the future. There will be a match ast SSGC on Tuesday. You need to see Mark Gallo regarding the Super Dave class.

Are there any classifiers being held anytime soon? I’m shooting unclassified at the moment and would like to change that. Much appreciated
