The rulebook says the following about SSR guns: Handguns permitted for use in this division must be:
A. Any revolver of .38 Caliber (.357” or larger) or larger that
utilizes ammunition with a rimmed case and is not reloaded
with a full moon clip.
B. Barrel length of 4.2” or less (as measured from the front of
the cylinder).
C. Have a maximum unloaded weight of 42 oz.
D. Be loaded to the division capacity of six (6) rounds in the
cylinder. Seven (7) and eight (8) shot revolvers are permitted,
but may only load six (6) rounds.

Needed some clarification. I have a s&w 65-2. Pretty sure it has a stock bull barrel. Can I compete with it?

Capel,

I am new to shooting IDPA at ACM on wednesday nights. At tonight’s match they made mention of a classifier being shot this Saturday May 8 at Creekside. Is this correct? Your announcements show a classifier at Creekside on May 22nd. Were they possibly mistaken about the weekend?

Regardless of the date, they had indicated that I should email you if I had interest in this satruday’s classifier. Can you confirm which is correct?

I am completely new to shooting with no equipments. I am planning to come to one of the matches in wednesday eveninng, do i need to buy those equipments before I come or do you guys sell guns and everything? Or if I need to buy them, where should i go?

How does IDPA differ from IPSC other than only allowing production pistols. And also, what is a “USPSA type speed reload.” How does the loading rule differ? Thanks, i am a lifetime target shooter and am very interested in pursuing Action shooting as a new hobby. I appreciate the info

Jeff,
You will need the basic equipment, but there is no training required other than the new shooter briefing. We have just added a video of this briefing at the top of this page. The best thing to do is show up at one of our indoor matches if possible. At either our indoor or outdoor matches, you will find plenty of friendly people to help you get started.
