10/27/2010 Match Results HiCaliber Match 02/10/10

Hopefully, the arctic blast of early January is behind us and we can enjoy our typically mild winter. Our first match of 2010 is on January 24th and the forecast says it’s going to be 50 degrees with sun. We are going to do something a little different this month – include a rifle in one stage. You may bring any center fire rifle you like, but preferably one that you would use for home defense. Also, please bring at least 20 rounds of ammo. Not everyone has a long gun and may need to borrow one. We will have an AR for those without and a limited amount of extra ammo.

Since the P in IDPA stands for pistol, this will not be an official IDPA match. We will observe all of the IDPA rules; we just can’t call it an IDPA match, so come out and shoot your AR, bolt or lever gun at our FUN match.

If you are bringing new shooters, arrive in time for the safety briefing.  Please pre-register on-line at here. Pre-registering saves us time and help to get the match started on time.

Registration starts at 9:00.
New shooter briefing starts at 9:30.
First shot after the shooters meeting at 10:00.

Remember, it is also time to renew your club membership! Membership dues run from January 1st to December 31st. Take the time to renew your membership now and enjoy the benefits all year.

Please go here to renew online. (You may also renew on match day.)

I look forward to seeing you at the range.

We had good turnout given the weather. 38 shooters and the weather was terrible.  When we arrived at the range, we discovered that the electricity to the entire pistol range had been cut. So, we had no way to run our compressor or computers for scoring. We did setup the computer in the clubhouse and held registration there, but we had no moving targets. According to Bill Clay at SRGC, we may not get the power back before March!

Now for the results, high shooters in each division are listed below:
CDP — Al Hodge 164.93 (28)
ESP — Bill Miller 126.80 (18)
SSP – Rhett Crutchfield 115.72 (31)
SSR — Allen Douglas 285.26 (64)
ESR – Capel English 145.39 (35)

The full results are available for download: 2010-01 January SRGC Results If you find any errors, please let me know.

Our next match will be the held on February 28th
